Arsenal and Sunderland concluded the eventful weekend with an enthralling 3:3 draw.
Ben Chisem, who scored in the previous match, continued his good form. A good pressing from Ciaran who managed to win the ball from the Gunner’s defender after the keeper gave him it short. A cheeky back heel left Ben Chisem 1 on 1 with the keeper who calmly slotted the ball to the keeper’s right on 2ndminute.
Arsenal levelled the score just after 5 minutes. The right winger beat his man with speed and put in an exquisite cross. It was met by Benny, who brilliantly volleyed home inside the box.
The Gunners went ahead on 20th minute. Lo made a fine run into the box and connected well with the ball. He slid in and beat the hapless Black Cats’ goalkeeper. Arsenal kept their lead at the break.
The Mackems regrouped in the second half and restored parity 10 minutes after the break. They were awarded a free kick 20 yards out. Ben Chisem took the freekick and it managed to find its way in via a deflection from one of the Arsenal defenders.
The Black Cats took the lead 8 minutes later. It was exceptional stuff from Nanki down the right. He burnt past his man with ease and chipped the goal over the onrushing keeper with one of the deftest touches. Unfortunately for him there was a Gunners defender on the line who bundled it clear but only as far as Will Edwards, who was there to clean up and smash the ball home to put Sunderland ahead for the second time in the game.
But it was not the end of the story. The Gunners rallied in the closing minutes and got their equalizer on 61st minute. Fung was the savior to the team who leaped and nodded home at the far post for Arsenal.
Both teams could not add another goal to their tally and the honours are even at the end.
